Nomads United AFC and FC Twenty 11 are excited to announce that we will be working together in 2023!

With the FIFA Women’s World Cup being hosted by Australia and New Zealand this year, we feel it’s the perfect opportunity to offer a more comprehensive pathway for our female members.

Many of you will already be aware of the collaborative sessions which took place at the end of 2022 were players aged U6-U16 from both clubs attended girls-only sessions delivered by our club qualified coaches Dennise Robinson, (FC Twenty 11 - C licence) and JD Dennen, (Nomads United AFC - C licence).

This experience allowed girls from both clubs to enjoy playing football with larger training numbers than usual and resulted in new friendships being formed. The sessions were a great success and we received positive feedback by participants from both clubs.

Consequently, Nomads United AFC and FC Twenty 11 have signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) and for the 2023 season will offer combined programmes for female players which will provide a more comprehensive pathway.

How will it work?

U10 – U12 Girls Grades

Players registered in the U10 or U12 grades will continue to play for their respective club teams and there will effectively be no change. Girls in these grades from both clubs will have the opportunity to join a combined skill centre (at extra cost) led by FC Twenty 11 and Nomads United AFC coaches.

This will mean that both clubs may be in the same leagues organised by Mainland Football and are likely to be in the same grades for these.

U14 Girls Grade

The clubs believe that working together will be most beneficial at this stage for girls in the 14th grade and older.

From this grade Nomads United AFC and FC Twenty 11 will offer a combined Academy Programme which will see players participate in two training sessions per week as well as a weekend game. An Academy team comprising of the most talented and dedicated players from both clubs will be formed and will play under a dual logo and be named FC Nomads. The cost will be the same to players irrespective of what club they are registered to at this time.

For players who miss Academy selection or prefer a more ‘social’ approach to their football Nomads and FC will create community teams for these players. They will also be able to attend the combined skill centre.

This format will allow all players’ needs to be met whether it be competitive, looking to improve their football or just social.

U16 Girls Grade

The U16 girls’ grade will operate similarly to the U14 girls’ grade with both clubs combining our most talented players to form an Academy team who will play under a dual logo and be named FC Nomads. The U16 Academy girls’ team will see players participate in three training sessions per week as well as a weekend game.

CWCL & WPL – Development Pathway

Players from both clubs will train together to field the strongest team for these competitions. In 2023 these teams will play under a dual logo and be named FC Nomads. Nomads United AFC has already appointed coaches for the Southern League and Women’s Premier League for 2023 as therefore this will remain unchanged for the remainder of the year.
