Academy Graduates

The Nomads United AFC Academy has been running since 2017. In that time we have seen a number of our players graduate and move onto bigger and better things. Below are a number of our academy graduates that have moved on to achieve at a higher level:

NAME: Caleb Cottom

POSITION: Midfield

Caleb Cottom made his Men's first team debut for Nomads in 2019 at the age of 16 after a number of successful seasons in our youth academy. Caleb is an exciting young central midfield player with huge potential. In 2019 Caleb played for the Canterbury United Youth Dragons and he he has now recently been selected for the Canterbury United Senior Dragons squad.

NAME: John Oakman

POSITION: Midfield/Defence

 

John Oakman made his Men's first team debut for Nomads in 2020 at the age of 16. John is currently training with the New Zealand U17 National team. John was a development player for the Canterbury United Youth team in 2019 and after a great debut season in the MPL this year he has been selected for the Canterbury United Senior Dragons squad - the youngest player in the squad. 

NAME: Adam Supyk

POSITION: Defence

 

Adam Supyk was in the Nomads Academy environment for the 2017 & 2018 seasons. Adam was the captain of our 14th team who won the South Island tournament in 2018. After two successful seasons Adam was selected for the Wellington Phoenix Youth Academy and moved to Wellington to pursue his football dream. Adam is currently in the NZU17 training squad.

NAME: Luke Supyk

POSITION: Forward

 

Luke Supyk is an exciting young player who was in the Nomads Academy environment for the 2019 & 2020 seasons. After two successful seasons Luke has been selected for the Wellington Phoenix Youth Academy and will move to Wellington in 2021 to pursue his football dream. We wish him all the best for his future endeavors!

NAME: Padric Ballard

POSITION: Defence

 

Paddy Ballard played at Nomads from 9th Grade and was in the Nomads Academy in the 2019 & 2020 seasons (14th / 15th Grade). Paddy is an exceptional young footballer with a fantastic attitude towards learning and a desire to become the best that he can be. This ultimately led to him being selected into the Wellington Phoenix Youth Academy. Paddy will move to Wellington in 2021 and we wish him all the best!
