Our Annual General Meeting is always a special moment in the Nomads United calendar, and this year was no exception. We’re delighted to share that our Committee has been reappointed for another season. Their continued commitment, energy, and care for the club provide a strong foundation as we head into the year ahead, and we’re incredibly grateful to have such a passionate group leading the way.
It’s also fantastic to officially welcome Carna Mytton back onto the Committee. While this marks her return in a formal capacity, anyone involved with Nomads last season will know that Carna was already playing a huge role behind the scenes. Her dedication, willingness to help, and deep connection to the club made her presence felt across all areas, and we’re thrilled to have her back around the committee table.
A true highlight of this year’s AGM was the recognition of two outstanding club servants, Chris Thurlow and Brendon Snelling, who have both been awarded Life Membership.
Chris’ association with Nomads spans an incredible 50 years. Over that time, he has contributed in almost every way imaginable - as a player, coach, committee member, and Club Captain. Chris has always embodied what it means to be part of Nomads: inclusive, generous with his time, and deeply committed to the people around him. Many will fondly remember his time as Club Captain, where he ensured even our youngest members had a voice, proudly sharing their match reports to the loudest cheers of the day. Chris’ legacy is one of leadership, warmth, and a genuine love for the club and its community.
Brendon’s contribution over more than 20 years has been equally remarkable. From his time as a key member of the first team - earning Player of the Year and Players’ Player honours and celebrating league and cup success - to his extensive coaching across junior and senior levels, Brendon has given so much to the game and the club. He is a familiar face to many as first team manager, a role he has dedicated countless hours to over the past seven years. Beyond football, Brendon is the person who quietly gets things done -from major building projects like our changing rooms and bathrooms to lending a hand whenever and wherever it’s needed. His commitment, humility, and willingness to serve make him a true club man in every sense.
We are incredibly proud to recognise Chris and Brendon with Life Membership - a fitting acknowledgement of their lasting impact on Nomads United.
